How to make fudge in a breadmaker? Can someone please give me a recipe and instructions for making fudge in a breadmaker. Thanks If you can't, then why not. It's only heating sugar, how is that going to do any damage?
what is the best way to keep breadmaker bread fresh? Is there something that I can keep it in on the counter that will help keep it fresh?? I like the fact that there are no preservatives in my breadmaker bread but I guess this is the price you pay. 3-4 days in a plastic bag and it starts to go mouldy. I am thinking of slicing it and putting it in the freezer. Thank you for your answers. I did have the bread in a plastic ziploc bag. It was not stale but was starting to go mouldy in 3 (maybe 4) days
Where can I find a manual for my old breadmaker? I picked up a "Chefmate bakery oven model# HB12-W" at a yard sale for 10 bucks! I cannot find anything about this particular model on any search engine. Anyone out there able to shed some light on my breadmaker? Stuff like how much it retailed for (in its day) ... Any info would be appreciated. Thanks J-mo> I have already found that page. It refers to the 215 model. When I click the other link it points to the same.
Is it necessary to use gluten when baking bread in a breadmaker? I am a first time owner of a new breadmaker. I am having lots of fun experimenting and have had lots of success. I recently received a new breadmachine cookbook which calls for gluten in every recipe. However, all the recipes I've found online and those in the owner's manual do not call for that ingredient. In fact, the owner's manual also states that if I live in Canada, which I do, I can use all purpose flour instead of bread flour b/c it has a high amount of gluten. (I'll still use bread flour though). I think that the loaves I've made have turned out nicely. However, does adding gluten really make that big of a difference?
how come i can not make bread in my breadmaker? I have a Regal breadmaker, I've tried to download recipes from the internet, and i was only able to successfully make bread one time, actually i think it made a little too much...it kind of overflowed but not too much and the bread was damn tasty...anyway all the other times the bread never rises or it rises than falls flat or the inside is mush and the outside is too hard, you get the idea. does anyone know how to successfully operate one of these things? I need help.
Anyone know where I can purchase a Breadman breadmaker in Seattle? I have the George Burnett Healthy Bread Recipe Cookbook. He uses and recommends the Breadman Plus machine. I know that some of the bread machines on the market are not strong enough for the heavier flours and bread recipes, eg. rye flour, spelt flour. This is a great cookbook and uses only healthy ingredients, eg. honey or molasses instead of sugar. My old breadmaker died and I think it was because it wasn't meant for the heavier bread recipes. I am having a difficult time finding a store that sells the Breadman breadmaker machines. Can anyone help?
Is it worth taking a breadmaker machine in to be repaired? The paddle on my breadmaker machine is leaking silicone grease (or whatever that sticky gross black stuff is.) Is this kind of thing repairable? If so, where should I take it? How much would it cost? Thanks for your input. Can't afford to buy a new one, and I don't trust things that have been donated to Salvation Army/ Goodwill, etc. Need to repair it, or live without homemade bread.
does anyone have the basic bread recipe for an LG breadmaker? My mum has an LG breadmaker and cannot find the instruction book that goes with it. She is after the basic bread recipe. Does anyone know (a) where we can find another book (LG site not very helpful!) or (b) does anyone actually have the recipe and can put on site. Thanks.
Why does our breadmaker get "oil" leaking out onto the dough? We have an Oster Breadmaker. Its worked fine up until the last three or four uses. Some type of machine oil? seems to be coming from the bottom/paddle which leaves minor black streaks all over the dough no matter how many times we try to clean it. What could be happening?
Breadmaker recipe for wheat free bread? I may have an allergy to wheat so am cutting it out as much as I can. Does anyone have a recipe for wheatless bread that I can use in my breadmaker. Preferably low glycemic.
What sort of flour should I use in my breadmaker? I recently bought a breadmaker...but I can't find any special bread flour in my supermarket. Someone mentioned that it depends what the percentage of protien is in your bread. Mine has about 11.2% (I worked it out before..), will that do?
How much is a one cup measurement in my breadmaker? I have this morphy Richards essentials breadmaker model number 48262 and in the bread recipes it requires 1 cup for most of the things as it came with the measuring cup but I have lost it does anyone have this same breadmaker or maybe another similar morphy Richards one who will be able to tell me how much 'one cup' is?
How can I have my breadmaker bread not be so tall? My recipe is: 4 C flour 2 T sugar 2T oil 1.75 t salt 1 pkg yeast 1.5 C warm water All my loaves of bread are really tall. (I have a horizointal breadmaker) The loaf is much taller than `regular' store bought bread. If I cut the loaf in half, then the slices are too small for my liking. Can I scale my recipe maybe?
Corn bread recipe for breadmaker? Does anyone have a cornbread recipe for a breadmaker? Mine only makes either a one pound or a one and a half pound loaf, and preferably no dairy products in the recipe. I found one, but its for a 2 pound loaf, and my breadmaker cannot make that big of a size.
Does anyone own a breadmaker? What do you think of it? Do you use it? What is your favourite item you make in the breadmaker? How often do you use your breadmaker? Any advice you can offer me about using one?
How can I change this breadmaker recipe to make WITHOUT a breadmaker? I have a whole box of grapenuts left over, but the only recipe for grapenuts bread I have been able to find is for a breadmaker. How can I modify the recipe to make it without one? http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Grape-Nuts-Bread/Detail.aspx Thanks, Mary! Anyone have any ideas about baking time/temperatures?

Breadmaker that makes bread using live yeast rather than dried yeast? I have been told that you can now buy a breadmaker that uses fresh, live yeast to make the bread as previously you had to use dried yeast. I did have a breadmaker, given to me by my Mum, but I didn't like the taste of the bread as it was using dried yeast. At the moment I make bread by hand and therefore use fresh yeast but as I have arthritis in my joints I am now finding this more and more painful.
Can you use breadmaker recipes other than the recipes that come with the breadmaker? I have bought a bread maker and in the instructions it says to not use any recipes that are not in the recipe book that comes with it. Can I use other recipes that are intended for the same size bread maker? Also, the recipes in the book it came with call for different flours: 405, 550, and 1050. Have you noticed any difference when using different types? Does it even make a difference? Can a bread machine be used to make anything besides yeast breads and mermalades?
Why does my breadmaker bread come out heavy? When I use a premade mix from the store it is fine. When I use a recipe from scratch, my bread always turns out heavy. It's like a door stop! I follow the directions word for word. This happens when I use any recipe, including the ones they send with the bread maker. Does anyone know a common reason for this? Thanks!
how do you make bread with a breadmaker? ive just moved into a house and theres a breadmaker in the cupboard but doesnt have any instructions. I would like to know how to use it by making a few loaves of home made white bread. Can someone please tell me what ingrediants i need and weight of them and how and when to add them into the breadmaker. thank you
Is it cheaper to use a breadmaker? We have a large family and we go through bread like crazy. Has anyone done the math to determine if a homemade loaf of bread maker bread is cheaper than a store bought loaf? I know it tastes better. I just want to know if it's worth the trouble.
How can I correct a loose paddle in my Breadman breadmaker? It doesn't securely fasten to the post and does not mix the ingredients. The dough then piulls it off the shaft. URGENT...I used it a short time, put it in storage 1 year and just gave it to a delighted friend. But we are puzzled as to why it does not work. A BIG disappointment.
Breadmaker from Aldi - has anyone bought one and is it any good? I make my own bread when I have the time using a Kenwood Chef and doing it all by hand but our local Aldi is selling a breadmaker for £29.99 which is just soooo cheap. I know people say you get what you pay for but it comes with a 3 year warranty so that can't be bad. Has anyone got a really cheap breadmaker and is happy with it.
Do you have a breadmaker? If yes is it another device up in the loft that you never use? I make my own bread all the time and it's quite hard work, so I thought about getting a bread maker. If you have one is it something you put away and never use like a slow-cooker and so many other wonderful kitchen devices? My slow cooker was in the loft until I decided to use it to plant a miniature landscape, LOL. But I do make bread so is it worth getting bread maker or is the bread better made by hand the old fashioned way?
Will a recipe for a 900g loaf work in a 750g breadmaker? Since 750g is roughly 80% of 900g I could use 80% of all quantities but it is a bit awkward to work it out with the recipe using cup measurements eg 80% of half a cup etc. What will be the consequences of squeezing in the extra 150g?
How to use a Panasonic SD253 Automatic Breadmaker?!? My mom and dad went away for a weekend for their anniversery. They're coming home at about 7pm (its 2pm) and my sister and I want to have the house all nice! We're trying to figure out how to use the breadmaker! How hot does my breadmaker get? It's an Oster, and it flicked the dough around so much it started burning! I'm baking the rest but I don't know how high I should set the temperature. I guessed 375, but what do you think? I had it on the expressbake cycle, if that helps your estimating...
